Hint: To Bypass Activation - (to use as wifi mini-tablet or whatever)
(NOTE: MUST RESTART PHONE DO NOT TOUCH OR CLICK ANYTHING)
1: Volume Up
2: Volume Down
3: Home Button
4: Back Button
5.) Enjoy

So I sat here for the last hour trying to get the above to work. It's not correct. Here is a verified working method:

After turning the phone on it will show the verizon boot up screen and then show a list of languages. Choose your language and then the next screen will show the activation screen. From there do the following:

1: Volume Up
2: Volume Down
3: Back Button
4: Home Button

That worked for me. The one above had 3 and 4 reversed and I added more detail of where to do it.

===== FAQ (excerpts)===== Rtfm

can this be rooted?
yes, use towel root

Can this be used with Sprint MVNOs, like FreedomPop or RingPlus?
Apparently not. It's not on their BYOD list.

Please inspire me how to use 20 of these. IP cameras, remotes, media player and ...?
Perfect for a perk farm, or...
1: GPS
2: MP3
3: Streaming (Pandora)
4: Media Controller (Sync to Chrome stick)
5: E-reader
6: Video games
7: Picture frame
8: Weather station
9: Alarm clock
10: Movies
11: IP webcam
12: Webcam viewer
13: Live cam viewer around the world
14: Stock updates
15: Disposable action cam (take on amusement park rides with high risk)
16: Emergency phone to dial 911 in every car you and your family owns
17: Practical joke machine
18: Help scientists out by offloading your extra cpu power to process data.
19: Extra phone with Google hangouts and a Google phone number
20: pr0n
Will this work as an upgrade on existing verizon plan?
Apparently the phone must have been used (activated) for 6 months before they'll allow it to be used on a postpaid plan.
