Info on getting updates if you're a little tech-savy:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/g...0-t3180847

The bootloader on this has yet to be unlocked by the dev community.

Anybody looking to update their phone by asking ATT to push the update should call 800-801-1101. This is the number for advanced technical support and the reps do know that updates can actually be pushed and are willing to help.

Otherwise its a huge pain to even get to advanced technical support.

All the info about the 2 updates with 5.1.1 can be obtained from here
http://www.att.com/esupport/artic...rPIOyfzQTw

You might require details of these while talking to the reps.

I own the G3 and have had it since it's release. I purchased this G2 Flex also for my wife months ago to replace her Galaxy S5. Not only does it completely blow the Samsung away, it came loaded with Android 5.1 Marshmallow which my phone still does not have. And the camera response is better than my phone and it is very comfy in hand. All round, LG makes a much better product than it's competition. They need a better "marketing campaign" to get the word out. I may grab this Silver one just to have it! worship

The G3 out of the box will work better with T-Mobile and has proper support for WiFi calling. They have the same camera and both have microSD slots. The Flex 2 has a much newer CPU/GPU but you HAVE to use an AT&T SIM to get the latest OTA software upgrade to fix a lot of the issues the unit shipped with. Standby battery life on the Flex 2 should be better and QuickCharge 2.0 support is also nice.

As a former Note 3, Note 4, and Xperia Z3 user, I must say this phone is superior in every way. The build quality is excellent, the battery life is comparable to the Z3, the sound quality is surprisingly better than the Z3. On 5.1.1 there are no heating issues with the Snapdragon 810. I bought this phone thinking it will be a cheap replacement for the Z3 which died on me, but it turned out to be the best purchase I ever made. I agree that LG needs a better marketing campaign. I still can't believe this wasn't their flagship phone for 2015.
