If it'll do what you need then buy it, do you have to have help picking your clothes out in the morning ? Smilie

What do you think? I have a ssd 120gig in the asus q501la but the hinge broke, it also has 6 gigs of memory.

bought it anyways, didn't want it to sell out.

Will wait and see if it's worth it,

Thinkpad T series is still solid, but it is a little bit heavier than the mainstream in the market. In addition, the fan runs more frequently and generates noise.

a bit overboard, the guy was probably just wondering what we thought about the specs ie resolution, quality of hard drive, speed of processor or if someone has this what they think

Solid business laptop but screen is not IPS and TN panel at 1600X900 is not up to par.

Intel 4000 graphics means very light gaming or no gaming.

Processor is better than today's i7-5500U and i5-5200U but with more power consumption which affects battery performance.

I have this exact model with an SSD in it and all. Got it for $330 on eBay back in May...I use it for college, and while it is a little bit on the heavier end weight-wise, it's a very reliable machine. Also runs very well with the SSD...I couldn't be happier with it, except maybe if it was a little lighter. Walking around with it on campus gets old after a while :-)
If you need any more info, let me know!!

I owned a T430 for 3 years as my daily driver. Wonderful machine. I had mine with an SSD and a 1TB HDD in the ultrabay where the DVD drive went. Wonderful build quality. The keyboard is chicklet but feels great. Still has the physical buttons and Function keys. the TN panel sucked compared to IPS but 1600x900 felt fine in most cases. This also ran the standard voltage Core i5 so performance is comparable to a Broadwell ULV Core i5 from today. Just don't exepct much battery life.

Also this thing can rock 16GB of RAM. That's what I had in mine and running VM's on it for my job was so easy.

This one doesn't have extra internal hard drive, only SSD?

Website says 160GB, not 180GB SSD.

This is a good business machine. We deployed many of them to our project teams about a year ago.
Nothing fancy, just a good workhorse. Battery life is so-so.
