Samsung ML 2850 stopped printing

My printer stopped printing. I tried unpluging everything, made sure there were no jams, etc. I refilled the toner not that long ago, so I doubt that's the issue. I did not put in a new reset chip, however. Do you think that could be the problem? Not sure if I need to just replace the chip or get a new printer. If I do need a new printer, do you have any recommendations for a laser printer that is easy and inexpensive to maintain? I probably print over 4000 sheets a year. I'm considering the Canon LBP6230dw since it's currently $60.

I would think if it's the chip it should give you some type of warning about toner being out.

First thing you need to determine is if it's a communication issue or a physical printing issue.

Does the printer show up in the control panel? (I assume you're using windows)
Is it plugged in both to USB and power?
Have you tried reinstalling the drivers?
Does the printer have a test page you can print without a computer?
