Microsoft has a trade in program for old surface users. Their website gives the trade-in value of their old Surface device, then turn it in and get a promo code via email. The code can then be applied to lower the price of the new Surface Pro 4 at checkout.

The trade-in promotion will last from now until November 7, and the promo code can be used until December 7

Values range from $700 for high end Surface Pro 3 , to $150 for 1st Gen Surface RT to $200 for 1st Gen Surface Pro.

Dang, I wish I had kept my Surface RT with Type Cover. I think I sold it on ebay for like $115.

Guys, make sure you try with keyboard & without.

I'm getting the same $175 quote for SP2 Pro 64 w/ Keyboard or without.

If you can sell the keyboard somewhere else for an extra $$$$

300 for SP2 with type keyboard, I got it with coupons and such for maybe 650 total last year. Doesnt seem like a great deal. a decent SP4 would come down to 600$, and you still need another 130$ keyboard for it....

for a couple of quotes I tried, with or without keyboard price was same - so check it out first and keep your kb if they don't pay you more! the SP3 keyboard will work as it is on SP4, others will work, but not look good as they are smaller than the screen Wink

For older models (pre SP3) prices are very competitive - equal to or greater than what you would normally sell for on CL or ebay, minus the hassle. For SP3, its a tad low, but not bad at all for an exchange program.
