Saw this posted on another deal site.

Kobalt 227-Piece Standard (SAE) and Metric Mechanic's Tool Set with Hard Case [lowes.com]
Item #: 573344 | Model #: 86756
Was: $199.00
Save 50%
New Lower Price: $99.00

Add a 10% off coupon to bring the price down further.

I have included an inventory list for many Lowes locations (in the wiki), but I will still mark this as YMMV since there may be some that don't have correct #s.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Go these 2-3 years ago on black friday, the case is kinda of a pain because it is plastic and the tools weigh quite a bit. Still it is very much a slick deal at $99 bucks

No. Most Craftsman tools are made in China now.

These are made in Taiwan and are a step up from Craftsman IMO.

Both lines of China/Taiwan tools are made by the same company, which is Danaher/Apex. Speaking from experience, I honestly can't tell any difference in quality, tolerance, strength, etc, when comparing sockets.

The Lowes Kobalt tools aren't made by Danaher/Apex as far as I know. Every tool that I've seen which was made by Danaher/Apex stated that on the back of the packaging, but the Kobalt tools all say "L G Sourcing, Inc" or "JS Products" which I don't believe are associated with Danaher/Apex. JS Products in particular makes their own line of tools under the Steelman Pro name.

I would be all over this if I hadnt bought the smaller Kobalt set earlier this year for like $35. Seems like a decent deal though. All my local stores have these in stock.

I bought this set http://www.lowes.com/pd_573345-22...d=50200797 last year for $15 and it was a steal. All 1/2' 6 point sockets. Perfect for working on my truck. My father has mentioned a few times over the past year that its a nice set so I just picked one up for him as I saw it was 50% off. Not $15, but still a good price for some great 1/2" sockets.
