OP's link is live again, at $34.99 (hopefully with battery issues resolved...)

The links to your account settings are not visible until your device ships, but if you're logged in, you can access them my linking directly to the account overview page https://www.freedompop.com/acct_overview.htm

- Automatic Top-up: Disable this under Billing > Bill Settings
- Downgrade Data Plan: Under My Account > Plans, click the “Details and Plan Management” link near your data plan. Look for a small link that states “To downgrade your plan, click here”. You may have to click through a few more messages until the plan is actually downgraded.
- Additional Services: Head over to the My Account > Services section of the website and if you see anything listed under “My Services”, use the small deactivation link to remove.

Don't be jealous of the Zing if you have a Mingle. They are almost the exact same device. The Zing is older - released for Sprint. It's the Netgear 771s and the Mingle is newer - released for Virgin Mobile - the Netgear 778s. According to CNet:

-------------------

Quote :
Virgin Mobile USA, the prepaid subsidiary of Sprint, announced today the availability of the Netgear Mingle, its first 4G LTE mobile hotspot on the Broadband2Go portfolio. This is the result of a collaboration between the wireless carrier and the networking vendor Netgear, who also made the Zing a while back.

Like the Zing, the Mingle works on the Sprint network and is the first Sprint Spark-enabled tri-band device that's designed for no-contract customers. Like any mobile hotspot device, it allows you to bring Internet to multiple Wi-Fi-only mobile devices while traveling.

According to Virgin Mobile USA, the Mingle can host up to 10 Wi-Fi devices simultaneously, can connect to both 3G and 4G LTE cellular networks. The mobile hotspot comes with a 1,800mAh battery to provide some 12 hours of usage on one charge.

Very similar to the Zing, the new Mingle comes with a 1.77-inch LCD display screen and support common features of a mobile routers.

Pulled the trigger on this one to replace a overdrive. I cant seeing paying $4 / month to keep getting the free 500mb on the old OD at 3g.

It wont come in time for the Nov 6 kill date, but at least there is a plan to replace it.. I note the shipping time is 2 to 3 weeks, so my fear timer is running. I will get 1 week to use up the promo data. The clock starts ticking when they ship and god only knows what day that is. If they could only ship / Sell via Ebay. The S3tab shipped so promptly!

Also of note I was offered a LG volt for free with a $30 activation fee. I passed but it was hard too. I wish I knew about that offer before I logged on to the order page to ponder it a bit. It seams folks here love the volt.

Even though I posted this, I'm a little confused whether one needs to pay $4/mo opposed to the Galaxy Tab 3 (for only the free plan). $4/mo is charged for the free plan on hotspots it seems?

Nice comparison. I have a Mingle and the design sucks especially with freedompop rebranding it with acetone or some shit, but it's okay. Battery life matters more so. As long as it works.

Is it possible you just have two devices on the same account, so they're forcing you to the lowest paid plan on the second? Just a guess, I haven't run into this.

The mingle I ordered came with free 500MB, but I see that this comes with 2GB trial. I don't really understand the difference between Free 500MB and Pro 500MB (4G/3G) for $3.99. Are you just paying for the benefit of the legacy 3G connection?

I'm thinking about refusing delivery on the mingle I have coming in. The zing is better right?
Also, can anyone clarify how adding a device works? Before I was told I needed a new account. Now it seems like I can just add it? Will it share data? What about my freedom friend credit?

Thanks : )
