Anyone know if the Google express is ONLY Walgreens? Groupon's Google express deal said it was only at a certain city but it still works on all Google express locations.

My husband loves the Harry & David pears and I bought some of the mavericks several years and we were satisfied with them. Last time I bought them though they were terrible! I'm afraid to buy any more of them since that experience. Anyone tried them lately?

I'm having an issue redeeming the promo code. All my items are from Walgreens. It says to check promo code terms - this is my first order using google express. Not impressed with the checkout system. Now I've got to go through the headache of trouble shooting the issue and contacting customer service. I would avoid the walgreens deal.

I've ordered them a bunch of times over the years and honestly have never had a bad one. I'm surprised that you have. However, I "discovered" something a few years ago: They are Comice pears (pronounced com EES), which can be found at grocery stores at certain times of the year, usually for around $1 a pound. Call your local "farmers market" type stores like Sprouts (if you have one) and ask when they have them. Granted, the ones in the stores are not as large or perfect as the Harry and David ones, but they're not bad. And for 1/5th the price(after shipping), well.......

If you ever have a bad experience Harry and David will ship you a new box. Call them!

Yes, we were shocked too. I normally love H & D stuff and had always had great success with the pears before.... even the mavericks. But I bought 2 boxes on some deal I found here, and they were really just not up to the usual level. I thought about calling them, but since they were mavericks I thought maybe they wouldn't replace them. Oh well.... I haven't bought any since then though.

I agree. The checkout system stinks with these promo codes. I used a couple for a couple different accounts. Google customer service is very easy to deal with. Chat with them and they'll resolve it quickly. But, if your order gets cancelled for any reason (store out of stock, CC declined - they charge you the full amount until the order is fullfilled, etc.) the code will no longer be valid and you'll have to chat with customer service again for a new code.

I've gotten royal riviera for $19.99 shipped before. This is only a decent deal if you really want them now and are ok with the mavericks. They're delicious pears, even if they are not as beautiful. I'd wait for a better price, unless you have a crazy cb deal for living social.
