I bet these are refurbished even though it says new.

I had been looking around for about 2 or 3 months for good deals on an actually brand new Galaxy S5 and basically realized that it's nearly impossible to find legit sellers out there online who are actually selling new S5's these days with the guarantee that they are really brand spanking new. Basically anything below $370 is pretty likely to be a refurb or used phone being sold as new because it's in nearly perfect condition. I just recently (received it on last Friday) bought a used S5 that's in mint condition through Swappa.

I looked into TigerDirect who had one for like $340 if you used a VISA checkout deal, but it was imported directly from China and didn't have a factory Samsung warranty and had some 3-month 3rd party warranty. My guess is that it's a Chinese knockoff because of the warranty and general schetchyness of it.

There are tons of people out there claiming to sell brand new and unlocked S5's who are actually selling you things that aren't what you are hoping for.

For this reason, I decided instead to save some cash rather than paying near-new prices to maybe not get a new p hone, and instead buy the cleanest lightly used S5 I could find through a site that guarantees it will work and is clean. You can do this through Ebay with their protection, or through sites like Swappa. I used Swappa personally and got an awesome, barely used, unlocked S5 for $240 with a protective case, screen protector, and all the original box, bags, and accessories. It works perfect and doesn't have a single flaw on it and I'm more than content with the deal I got.

I'm just putting this info out there in case anyone else is in the same boat to hopefully help you guys avoid overpaying for an S5 or getting taken by some of the shady retailers out there.
