after a year using an iPhone (had to switch bc iPhone was stolen), I'm back on a Galaxy device..
tried to download Plex in which I had previously purchased using tokens from the past... but I can't seem to find Amazon App Store anywhere...can someone update me what's going on? can't seem to figure it out from the first page of Google search results. .. thanks.

Amazon appstore isn't available on the play store. You have to side load it and, surprise amazon has directions https://www.amazon.com/gp/feature...91&isAUI=1

The Amazon appstore is a violation of the google play store TOS, for obvious reasons. You can just download the apk directly from Amazon. You might have to disable an option to disallow third party or unsigned apps, but that's easy to do.

Plex is available through the Play Store. Think it verifies your status (trial, regular, PlexPass) via your email address now when you sign in to the app.

I already have the app through Amazon App store... although it's more convenient by having it from the Play Store...it costs $5 to purchase the app from there.

From the Plex app in the Play Store:

Note: If you've already purchased the app or have a Plex Pass, you do NOT need to purchase again! We attempt to detect your previous purchase automatically. If this fails, please select "Already Paid?" on the activation screen and follow the instructions to restore your purchase.
Not sure how well it will recognize your purchase of the Amazon Plex app vs the Play one, but Plex support is pretty good if it doesn't.

You have to open up the Amazon App Store which is known now as Amazon Underground and go to the App section and re-download since I have already purchased it previously.
Im all set now. Thanks for the help !!

Personally I'd only 'purchase' free apps from the amazon app store. That way if you ever decide you don't want to deal with the security issues associated with allowing apps from unknown sources introduces you aren't out any money.

yea.. through SD, people were able to get a whole bunch of free coins where a lot of us used it to purchase such apps like Plex through Amazon App Store.

There's nothing stopping samsung from pre-installing it. Amazon's app store can't be sold in the Google Play Store.
