This comparison looks totally fake. The Nexus Player has bluetooth, wifi, voice control, and microUSB. You can also install most if not all of the apps that are compared on this site. I have both devices. I would choose the Nexus player over the Fire TV stick any day. I have a plex media servers, and the nexus player plays content perfectly, while the fire tv hiccups. Also, sideloading apps on the Nexus Player adds even more functionality. I have a PS1 and SNES emulator on it and I play with a Game Samurai bluetooth controller I got from a previous deal. I most likely couldn't do the same with the FireTV stick.

So is this really better than Amazon Fire TV Stick?

I have both. the stick apps are a bit more robust although Amazon ethos. If you aret going to put KODI on it you will need to learn about ADB fire, Fire Starter and side loading. My sling apps work good.

The Nexus is a bit more picky on what apps are available. My side loaded sling app conects and reconnects over and over. I am connecting to a older SB300. App works fine on the nexus 3 tab, but it is not available at the play store for nexus only tabs. The play Store has Kodi and you do not need to side load it. Nexus is a quad core atom processor. You can add a USB otg cable for a mouse, keyboard, storage ect..

In short if all you want to add is Kodi, then the Nexus wins. If you want HBO to go, Showtime any where and a lot of the cable company apps, you better check to see if you can get them on the Nexus. The fire TV seems better supported for those. Firetv Stick is dual core. No USB.

Is this good / powerful enough for Kodi without buffering issues?

Ehh - already have a Chromecast and FireTV Stick (and a HTPC, and a PS3, and currently in the market for a PS4)... I think I'm good.

If you don't need Kodi, get the Roku 3.
