Right now Amazon has the Lego Dimensions Starter Pack on sale for $84.99. Combine that with the Amazon Moms promo code (not sure if you have to be an Amazon Mom. Has worked for some who are not, but it has not worked for others) LEGOMOMS at checkout and you can get the starter pack for $69.99.

Ugh. I've resisted starting in on this series, but darn it, the price may be too good for Santa not to bring this. Stick Out Tongue

Ugh indeed. Lego, Skylanders, Disney Infinity... How much more of this crap can sit on my tv stand? I was just blown away when I saw this starter pack in the store and they wanted $109 for it. So I guess this is a good deal. But the reviews for this game aren't overwhelming, so I'm hoping to keep my kids away from it until the prices come down further.

I have regular prime and it worked for me....as much as I didn't want to give into another series like this for my daughter.

Hmm. Not sure how long this code is good for, but it did just work for me before I posted. I have regular prime too.

Not that I'm aware of, but I can't say for sure.

When does the code expire? $69.99 should be the Black Friday price, so if the code stacks on top that would be awesome!

I wonder if it might have to do with how one owns Prime. For instance, I am provided w/ Prime via my brother's account. It would amount to a legacy prime account in that he has it shared w/ four people. For those who it works with, do you own your Prime account or perhaps have one of the new Prime Family accounts that can only be shared with 2 people?

Good Deal, but be aware--this thing, while fun--is a huge moneysink

Level Packs are $30: (Portal, Simpsons, Bttf, Dr. Who, etc)
Character packs (one character and a vehicle/toy they can use) are $15
"Team" packs which have Two Characters and Two Toys/Vehicles run $25 each

For the Completionist, you'll be spending a hefty chunk of change as certain side-puzzles take certain character powers (Bad Cop/Cyborg's Laser, for example)

I like it, I'll even go as far as to say it's the Ultimate Lego Game if you happen to like any of the other Telltale/Lego Titles (Batman, HP, Jurassic World, etc..pretty much anything that's out)--Just know what you're in for, price wise

I'm a huge Lego nerd, so this was gonna happen regardless of price. Thankfully I picked up the starter for $50 due to a Best Buy promo glitch 6 months ago. It plays almost exactly like every other Lego game with the difference being, you have to physically buy the figures, as opposed to unlocking them with studs. I don't mind that so much, because you also get to have physical figures as well, and without this game, we never would have gotten Portal, Dr Who, Ghostbusters, Wizard of Oz or BTTF.

I will say that the voice acting is top notch. Take a gander at the IMDB page, and see how many big name voices they got to appear in this. And the story is pretty funny too. You can play the full game with just the starter, but they are pulling out all the stops to try and trick you into buying more. I plan on buying everything eventually, but I'm really hoping for some BF deals. Even with %20 GCU prices, these sets are taking a toll on my wallet.

I have every Skylander and Disney Infinity except the current series. I will probably get them eventually, but I've seen these things sit and make their way to clearance too often, so I can wait a few months. I don't forsee Lego Dimensions making it to the clearance bin any time soon. Lego is usually the one brand excluded fro mass toy discounts already.

FYI just check that the promo code doesn't have an extra space at the end. It worked for me and I have regular prime.

I definitely own my own regular Prime account and have tried the code with every game system variation, only to get a "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase." Meaning Amazon recognizes it as a valid promo code, but there are other stipulations required apart from being a Prime member...
