It looks like Verizon is having a promotion. If you upgrade your Fios Internet, they will lease you a router free of charge. The rep did not give me the model number to confirm, however i believe it would be the latest, with dual band (Gateway FIOS-G1100).

Upgrading to the next speed option should only be $10. I upgraded from 15/15 to 50/50 for $10.

Normally this router is $199.99 to own or $9.99 to lease. Very good deal if you are leasing one from them already.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Free permanently but you would need to return it if you disconnect.

I do a lot of streaming and browsing. 15/15 is wicked fast for me already. Upgrading to 50/50 is more than i need. I can't imagine anyone needing anything faster than 50/50.

I just recently signed up for 50/50. Just received my first bill I wonder if it is only for upgrades. Will have to call in to check. Thanks OP hopefully I can get the $9.99 waived on future bills.

And they also make you press multiple buttons on the remote to display the channel guide. Just sayin'

My wireless router is included on my Fios subscription.

What is there to torrent anymore? I stopped torrenting years ago. There's all kind of streaming services out there.

Yeah, it's nice to be able to download a 20gb file in a couple minutes. I'm on the 75/75 plan. It's wicked fast...the 150mb downloads must be awesome.

I believe people that subscribe to ONLY FIOS internet do not get rentals for free.

how would they handle it if you change (namely, downgrade) your speed in the future? Is there just a requirement to keep the upgraded speed for a certain time?
