Lenovo Thinkpad Cyber Monday

Hey folks!

Last month I was able to get the Lenovo Preferred card to pop up for me. I got approved for $4200 credit line with no hard inquiries. If you want this for yourself, just pull up a inprivate browser or incognito chrome window, make sure you add at least 2-3 grand worth of merchandise to your cart and attempt to check out as a guest. It should then prompt you for the card. It is a soft inquiry on equifax only. I was instantly approved for $4,200 although many others were in the 1-3k range.

I would like to get a thinkpad. One that can accept a single cable dock like the carbon, or the better pro ones where you snap the laptop in.

I really want to spend under $1200 total. The dock itself is $200, not including the monitor and keyboard.

Battery life is important to me. Needs to last at least 6 hours, but 9-12 would be ideal. I am primarily using my Asus x205ta from staples last black friday for $99. Its a great machine. But since I need a new desktop I figured why not kill two birds with one stone.

The cheap part of me wants to just get a nice wireless keyboard/mouse, a $79 27" tv for a monitor and just hook it up to this. But I kinda would like to hand down this Asus to my niece and get a real computer.

Do you guys think cyber monday will be my best bet?

Backlit keyboard
Long battery life
Thinkpad durability
Take single cable for dock or full station
i5 processor latest generation would be ideal
12-15" screen

I know toshiba and dell latitudes can take a dock. I should research this also, but they seem to be more costly and less durable. Besides, the thinkpads seem to handle battery life better than any other laptop...leave it plugged in for years and it still has 80 percent charge (at least my family members t410)

THANKS for reading, appreciate any tips or info guys! Thank you!

Although I can't speak specifically to ThinkPad durability, I can tell you based on your specs you could get a computer for around $300 to $500, that would make you very happy.

You can also get a Lenovo USB port excitement doc station for 50 bucks from eBay. Plug in 1 USB and 1 power cord into your laptop, and it's docked. ( two video ports, 5 USB. Ports, Ethernet, speaker and microphone)

As for the credit card application thing, I guess I don't see the appeal. You still have to pay the bill, so that's not really slick deal of any sort.
