NOTE: This is the Standard Edition according to Toys R Us' listing. The Day One Edition can be found here [toysrus.com] (currently out of stock). Thanks

Hunting around for a few fun games to add to the Xbox One I picked up this weekend. Smilie

You can probably find it used cheaper but this seems a good deal for a new version with the day one extras.

Cheers

This is a great game. One of the best Xbox One titles by far.

I was an alpha playtester on this game, and saw it go through some pretty massive design changes. Most of the wackiness was in place early on, but the tone of the game universe was much closer to Rapture than LegoLand. In the end, they made the right call going with "zany-punk rock theme park"world instead of the My-Little Pony colored battlegrounds....with the gravitas of Last of Us' dystopian post-apocalyptic wasteland where everyone needed to drink Red-Bull to fight the infected.

Kinda new to the Xbox scene. What does "Day One Edition" mean?

I'm not sure if they still do this, but for games published by MicrosoftStudios, they used to released a "Day One" edition and a normal edition. Day One edition is intended for people who pre-order or otherwise go and buy the game on launch dates and usually came with a few frivolous downloadable contents for free (in-game accessories, avatar gears, etc). Of course, if they didn't sell all the Day One copy on day 1, you can often get the Day One version later too. In this case, maybe the found a crate or two of Day One that they hadn't sold? Interesting the picture says Day One but the title doesn't say Day One. No idea which version you'll actually get.

One more thing to keep in mind - the two versions will have different UPC. If you like trading-in games after you're done with a game, the trade-in values can be different between the two versions.

As I understand, It usually means its an early edition of a piece of hardware or software. For example, it could mean the game is from the first batch of games produced and released on the first day it became available, etc.

Bought it and quickly sold it. Deal is solid I guess but not my kind of game.

The DLC is nothing special but this is a must own game for any Xbox one owner.

I should have mentioned as you progress through the game the controls get to be a bit difficult. It is not comfortable for some actions and it does require practice.

I enjoyed the hell out of this game. It appears to be a relatively divisive title, with some people really hating the whole tone and character of the game, but the ridiculous colors and over-the-top, self-aware humor didn't bother me one bit.

It's a pretty unique game, a combination of a third-person shooter and the old-school Tony Hawk games. I couldn't recommend it enough.
