Good bluetooth remote for Amazon Fire TV Stick

kantonburg 113 82 November 9, 2015 at 04:10 PM
I plan on picking up two fire tv sticks on black friday (if available). A co-worker mentioned a good thing to have is a blue tooth remote to help with ease of search and basic function instead of the basic remote.

Can anyone recommend a decent remote that isn't too expensive since I need 2?

Thanks

It's not something where there's any choice to speak of. You can buy the basic remote or the voice remote from & made by amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Voice-remot...ick+remote
http://www.amazon.com/Replacement...ick+remote

If you buy a fire stick from amazon, you can choose a voice remote for $10 more (cheaper than buying it later).

I understand that. I was looking along the lines of something like this.

I'd rather not use a smartphone.

I believe what jkee meant was that, by default the only bluetooth devices you can connect to the Fire Stick are the two remotes and the gamepad. It doesn't support bluetooth keyboards or headphones out of the box.

Supposedly you can get around that by side-loading the settings APK. I haven't tried that though.

I have the firestick and firetv, I can't imagine the remote being any better. One has the voice (which I don't use) and the other not. I also have the game controller. Not sure what you are looking for. I suggest trying the included remotes and see if they are enough for you.

I guess I need to be a little more in depth. I'm getting the stick to control the Xfinity TV app. I'm using these in place of the $11/mo boxes they want you to rent. The app will let you watch live tv and recording from the main X1 box. It also doesn't count against your bandwidth. I want the remote to not have to click through searching things. The search function on the X1 box is great. It's also a touchscreen based app.

Here is the remote my co-worker has
