Sharing xfinitywifi hotspot with multiple devices?

alchemista 2,608 695 November 10, 2015 at 09:52 AM
I have a scenario where there is an xfinitywifi hotspot (requires Comcast account login) and I need to connect multiple devices to it. For each device, I have to open the splash page and login to my Comcast account.

What I'd like to do is - have one device (travel router, WiFi range extender, etc) attach via the splash page account login, but then every new device simply connect to a WiFi network without requiring re-opening the Comcast splash page.

Does anyone know how to do this?

From my research, it looks like the urlhasbeenblocked travel routers work for this, but there are a couple of bad reviews of doing the same thing. Ideally I could do this through my dd-wrt capable extender, since there is one location for the best hotspot signal.

Thanks

All I can say is that I've read the urlhasbeenblocked routers can login to hotel wifi via the same method (after all that's the entire point of such a device) but I haven't done it myself.

I get 15/2Mbps speeds from the wifi hotspot. Not sure where you get 500kb.

you could connect with a laptop then connect a wireless router to the ethernet port of the laptop and bridge the 2 ports.

Then you'd need your laptop to be near your router all the time - could work for temporary though.
