wow. and to think my aunt bought me the 97 golden eye blue version for $1500. i was 14 at the time. my aunt asked what watch i wanted. i was thinking one of those remote control watches but then i saw pierce brosnan's ad in front of the store and BOOM, 18 years later i'm still wearing it. =)

do these watch need regular maintenance? I've one omega automatic and it just stopped working after 12 years!

Anything with moving parts will eventually need maintenance, it's especially the case with a precision time piece subject to the day to day bumps and what not from being on your wrist. Omega recommends maintenance every 5 years, more frequent if it's non-coaxial. The fact you went without service for 12 years is impressive. You can send it to Omega service center for servicing, I imagine it'll be around $500 or so.
