REI is currently selling the Goal Zero Sherpa 50 Charger, Sherpa inverter attachment and Lantern Bundle for $71.93, down from $158.73. Shipping is free.

You get the following:
- Goal Zero Sherpa 50 charger
- Goal Zero Sherpa inverter attachment (110V AC, up to 0.7A, 75W max)
- Goal Zero Light-A-Life 350 LED lantern (new version, despite old pictures on site)

This bundle does not come with a solar panel, so you have a couple of options:
- You can buy a Goal Zero panel (If you go with a Goal Zero panel, I recommend Nomad 13 or Nomad 20 used from eBay for a fraction of what they run on Amazon)
- You can use your own less-expensive 13W-20W panels from Anker, Allpowers, etc and use barrel connector adapters

Sherpa Inverter: http://www.goalzero.com/p/153/she...erter-110v
(can also be used as a 12V cigarette port inverter with adapter cable)

Light-a-Life 350: http://www.goalzero.com/p/319/lig...-led-light

***If you want to buy (2) of these, they can be chained together to double your run time. The Sherpa 50 9.0mm chaining cable can be found here: http://www.goalzero.com/p/188/she...able/28:4/
On the flip side, if you just want to use the Sherpa 50 inverter as a stand-alone inverter in your vehicle, you can buy a Sherpa 50 Inverter 9.0mm power cable, found here: http://www.goalzero.com/p/204/she...ar-adapter
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

5200 mAh peak capacity? What's that mean?
I don't know this brand. Is it really worth it?

if you are looking to just charge something that uses microUSB then this likely isn't the best solution for you, from a battery capacity standpoint for your dollar. what makes this shine is the ability to run a device off the 110V inverter and power other goal zero equipment. you also get a great LED lantern / area light as well. again if you're just looking to charge a cell phone then just get one of those Anker / Aukey / RavPower battery boosters

these can also be chained together with the Sherpa 50 9.0mm chaining cable to double run times

I picked this up for camping and for being "that guy" that still has Wi-Fi during a storm power outage. tested this past weekend, ran my modem/wireless box for 2 hours and still had 40% juice left. was also tinkering with the included latern during that time

What a sweet deal, thanks! Also @jackbauer24 the 7w panel you linked to doesn't look like it has the right plug and on top of that, is too small a panel to charge the sherpa very quickly, you want something over 10w.

can this power something low voltage for long periods of time? i.e. if I lose power, can I power an aquarium pump?

it comes with the inverter

i posted the deal b/c it comes with the Sherpa 50, the inverter, and the light-a-life 350 LED lantern. the lantern alone is $40 right now on amazon which is over half of the price of this combo kit. the inverter alone is ~ $35-$45 on eBay right now which puts you over the price of the kit. it's like getting the actual Sherpa 50 for free
