Ipad mini 2 or 4? Kids.

I'm not very tech... For kids is it worth paying the extra $$ for the newer version of the iPad mini? I looked up the differences and there doesn't seem to be much except the touch id. But, they will use these regularly so I would pay the extra $ if worth it. I don't want an update to come out and make these unusable like my iPhone.

Mini 2 will be fine since its only for kids. Educational(ahem ahem), games apps are the ones theyll use so it wont matter. Go with it shud hold for 3-4 years.

I have both and iPad mini 2 is fine for kids. They don't need Touch ID and dual app mode.

My oldest has the 2, and my youngest has the 4. It's slightly faster and a little crisper looking, but depending on ages, the 2 should work just fine.

Really trying to spend $200. This is for an 18 year old though. Should I splurge and get the mini 4?
