For New Amazon Store Credit Customers, you receive an instant $20 Gift Card.

$149.99 - $20 (Gift Card) - $50 (ECHODEAL) = $79.99 + tax (additional 5% statement credit with AS card)

The Amazon Rewards (Chase VISA) card will NOT work for this deal.

... said the guy who clearly has no idea what this is
agree that ANYONE who takes a credit hit (inconsequential as it is) for $20 is not so bright. At 50 years old and credit score of 800+ I still am a bit more loose than your $400 mark but that is good advice for the younger crowd..
I do, actually. Totally happy with it. For one, it's completely reliable; also, you can ask the time whenever, which is a little slower than just glancing at a clock but a lot cooler; and finally, you can do some cool stuff with Echo, if you've gotten into the 'connected home' thing. I've got Echo tied to my Philips Hue bridge & bulbs, and I have a bedside light begin to slowly turn on concurrent with the alarm. The Echo is actually a lot more awesome than I expected it to be when I bought it.

Anyone use one of these as a main alarm clock? I planned on buying a bluetooth speaker and pairing my old s4 to it, but might get this instead.

Whilst I would agree the SONOS is a good speaker, are they not also around $200 more than this right now?

....two completely different gadgets....sonos play 1 is 199,doesn't have Bluetooth functionality, needs to be connected to wifi, won't tell you jokes or weather ...I would get the echo

Granted the sonos sounds better
