Error when trying to open a .docx file

Berger67 2 10 November 11, 2015 at 04:14 AM
When trying to open a .DOCX file in Word 2013 I receive the following error message:
"there was an error opening the file."
What can be causing this to happen?

How big is the file? It sounds like it's most likely corrupt.

your file may be corrupt or you can change the name by extension from .docx to .doc

.docx files are Microsoft Word 2007 files. If you don't have Word 2007 installed on your computer, this might be what's causing you to receive a 404 error.
