Is it at all possible to get any hotel deals for Las Vegas for NYE? Looking to go from 12/31-1/3.

I know this is a very busy time, just wondering if there are any deals (even small discounts) available at all?

I was able to book Excalibur for 4 nights at ~$950 after resort fees etc etc for 3 people/2 queen room (at mlife). Seemed to be an OK deal...
Plus free cancellation/complete refund, so if anything better pops up between now and NYE I can swap it.

http://www.mycheapvegas.com/ was another site I was looking at, but the rates went up for most hotels after Oct 31.

Many if not most hotels wont allow a NYE check-in. Most will want you to checkin Dec 30th or earlier.

This is what I did. I made my reservation. I then kept hawkeye-ing the hotel website and everytime that rate dropped, I called and asked for the lower rates. I have found the rates are lower at hotels the beginning of the week and rise as the week progresses. They are based on whats available. If they have lots of rooms the rates are cheaper. Initially you should make your reservation at the hotel website too. I did this at the Tropicana and I when I started out my room rate was 79.95 a night, by the time I went to Vegas, I had it down to 49.95 and an upgraded room. Just by watching. I recommend the hotel websites directly as opposed to the travel sites and brokers.

Was this for a normal weekday/weeknight or a holiday?
I have been checking hotel deals for NYE in Vegas for a couple months now and they haven't been getting any cheaper (at least what I have seen). The lowest pricing I found was booking on the last week of Oct. By Nov 1 the cost for 4 nights over NYE was up by $200-$300 on average, for a hotel on the strip.

its hit or miss but my wife discovered onhotels can sometimes have a seemingly random hotel available that is significantly cheaper than other sites. Just recently we were trying to get a Vegas room that happened to be during the Vegas Rodeo where prices are up across the board but they had Planet Hollywood available for a $58 weekend night. From what we saw other sites were about $100 more for the same night. But again its hit or miss... sometimes their rooms are more expensive.

New years in Vegas is HIGH SEASON. Perhaps you can save a buck here and there, but there are no "deals". A waste of time even searching for them.

I hate to tell you guys. Vegas has a shit ton of rooms. They try earlier to get suckers to pay top dollar. Then closer in to NYE they dump the rooms for much lower rates. There will be much better deals than 4 days at Excalibur for 950.00 And there are better decals now only to go lower.
