If you're patient you will find a greater deal on eBay for these phones. I just bought a 4-month-old 64GB 6Plus for $485. Cannot be told from new, AND still has 8 months left of Apple warranty. Refurbs only have 30 days...and you can't just walk into your local Apple Store and exchange it

I'm hesitant to buy any newer flagship phone on eBay or CL. The risk of the phone being blacklisted due to being leased or financed seems higher than I'd like. I bought my 6s directly from T-Mo when they had their additional monthly credit promo and free upgrade to 128GB. Other than that I would only buy a refurb or used phone from one of the major carriers or from someone I know well.

Non-Refurbished (New/Unlocked) version is $499 at Micro Center, but I think it's in-store only. I still wouldn't buy this phone for $500.

iPhones are refurbished by 3rd parties only. If there is a warranty it's the 3rd party or its just the balance of the Apple warranty from when the phone was originally activated. Am I the only one who knows that? go to the Apple Store website and see for yourself.

Craigslist...you're S.O.L. if that were to happen. At least with eBay you have the buyback guarantee

Hmm. You're right. They have refurb ipads, etc but not iphones.

I was confused because I've purchased refurb ipads from apple.com and they all had advertised full 1 year warranty.
