Help with Kodi streaming box

Edouble198 42 12 November 12, 2015 at 05:56 AM
I am overwhelmed with the amount of options on Amazon for Kodi streaming box. I already have a smart tv and would be using this primarily for Kodi. Can someone please recommend a box
that runs Kodi smoothly and they have had a good experience with. The reviews are so mixed for many boxes I am confused. The interface doesn't effect me that much I again am only concerned with having a stable box that runs Kodi well. Appreciate any advice or help. Thanks

If u have an amazon account and an android phone I would go with the fire tv box (easy to root with the android app) The fire tv stick will work but the box is better performance wise.

I have a stick with Kodi. It works pretty well unless I stream HQ stuff. Then it buffers a lot. I just purchased a fire TV box and I'm going to run it wired instead of wireless. It should help some. Someone here suggested a YouTube video that I followed and it allowed the stick to "buffer while the movie was paused" and I think it helped out quite a bit for me.
I think the problem is people LOADING the firestick with tons of stuff you don't need and it bogs it down. I like Genesis, 1Channel, vdubt25, Robin Hood project, yify, Phoenix, sports devil, and of course video devil!
That's ALL I need to be honest....not thousands of add-ons..

I have Kodi installed on our Amazon Firestick and on a Raspberrypi 2.

After "Fixing the Buffering Issue" we have found that both methods are comparable in our home and connected wirelessly to our network. However we have found that the Raspberrypi with a Bluetooth Keyboard - mouse combo is much easier to use. The Amazon Firestick Remote just seems clunky to me. There are other options of course but for us the Firestick is relegated to our Amazon Prime usage only.
