Phone looks amazing. But come on...no one is going to pay $650 for a Windows phone.

The hardware is great but Windows Phone is on the edge and the app situation is not only abysmal but it doesn't appear to be getting any better with Windows 10 Mobile. This is way too much to pay for a Windows Phone at this point.

The price will probably free fall next year when it doesn't sell well.

The camera will have to be confirmed to be the "best" to purchase this. The photos put out by Microsoft shows it could be true (they look absolutely stunning) but want independent confirmation.

Specs seem on par w/my Nexus 6p....but $650 when I paid $550 for my 64GB version + tax is hard to deal with

I've always been interested in a windows phone, and it seems like it has band 12 which can one day be beneficial while on TMO....but that price...

OP you may want to add that it comes with a free display dock for continuum.

For those who don't know, continuum allows you to plug in your phone to a monitor / TV and it scales perfectly to function as a PC - allowing you to use keyboard etc to draft emails, MS office, browse etc. This being the first liquid cooled phone, should also help.

They may be in a minority as things stand now, but Windows phone fans would pay, for them latest and greatest Android phones don't matter much.

Indeed.

They have trained us to wait for sales. Does anyone in their marketing department think the people who have bought $129.84 MSRP 640's for around $30 will be falling over themselves to drop $700+ right out of the gate? (don't forget your $$ add-on back to make it less fugly too)

Having Zero surface DNA also kills it for those adopting SP4's or Surface Books. We are all waiting for the "Surface Phone"

So what do we have:
Cheap people: nope

Hardcore Surface Kool-Aid drinkers: nope

Desperate people with old high end WP handsets? It's been two or three years already they can wait for better prices or better hardware.

I preordered mine an hour ago, I can't wait, this is the best phone ever made. If you have a Edu account you get 10% off, which is nice to counter the sales tax.

I haven't used any version of Windows since Vista, but I just recently switched to Windows Mobile, and I can't believe how much I prefer it over ios and Android. Never thought in a million years I would say that.
