Running two of these from a similar earlier deal. Colors not quite as "wow" as their full gamut brother, but for the price a hard to beat buy.

Worth replacing a U2412M with one of these?

just wondering...amazon has this for $259 as well. This promo is knocking it $20 off. If i don't have an Amex card, why is this attractive to me per se?

I just want to make sure i didn't miss something (like it has always been300+ or something?)

Got it for $170 a few months ago. Runs much cooler than the 2408WFP it replaced

People are still making 16:10 monitors? I have a big ASUS 16:10 at home, and retired it because it was always impossible to deal with the overscaling.

16:10 is better for internet/office/programming
16:9 is for movies and may be gaming

different people have different needs

I don't think so. The specs are largely the exact same with only some minor differences. See Techwarn [techwarn.com].

I have two of these hooked up to my photoshop/illustrator/premiere rig. Love the extra real estate. Highly recommend these for anyone needing accurate color representation straight out of the box.

The U2412M is Wirecutter's current "best 24-inch monitor", but...

Quote from wirecutter.com :
We've switched this guide to wait status, as new monitors from either Dell (UltraSharp U2515H, UltraSharp U2415H) or Asus (PA249Q) will replace our current pick once we've finished testing them. Dell's U2412M is still a decent monitor for its extremely low price, but newer monitors have HDMI and USB 3.0--and no PWM flickering, for those bothered by that.
So, I imagine you'd only replace if those particular things are important to you.
