Rebate Tracking Tool - Built for Multiple Websites

jndizoglio 376 252 November 18, 2015 at 05:20 PM More Newegg Deals
I have decided to share a tool that I use to track the many rebates that I complete on a daily basis. It is an excel sheet which is capable of autofilling various rebate tracking links, as well as keep track of outstanding rebate costs, and those which are completed in the past.

If there are any scripting gurus out there, I would love to work with you to further automate the process, such as filling online forms or self populating this excel sheet based on a received rebate email etc.

I hope this helps and eventually gets pinned to the top for many people to share. Thumbs Up are greatly appreciated and help motivate me to keep updating this wiki.

Currently this excel workbook is capable of tracking the number and cost of rebates a user currently has outstanding, as well as how many they have completed. In order to use it, please fill out the settings page with your information and fill out the first page with any outstanding rebates you have completed. Notice the column with the tracking link will automatically be filled once the tracking number and website has been filled.

Currently works well with various manufacturers and companies:
Newegg
Tiger Direct
Staples
Thermal Take
---------manufacturers---------
(ASUS, ADATA, McAfee, 4myRebate, Total Defense)

------------------Please request for features below this line-----------------
sum of completed rebates for specific companies - DONE
sum of outstanding rebates for specific companies - DONE

  1. what version of excel are you using?
  2. Your drop down list is not case sensitive, I would prefer to have "Error Alert" enabled. This avoids confusion for excel to sum all rebates from "Newegg", "newegg", "NewEgg" etc in case one wants to separate/add/track the rebates by company in the "Totals" tab.
  3. =SUM('Outstanding Rebates'!G14:G48) ---> why not G2:G48?

I updated the excel sheet to reflect changes 2 and 3. I left the error alert alone, as I designed the sheet such that people can insert their own companies into the "blank" company choice

I am running Excel 2016 for MAC (office 365)

Very cool spreadsheet.

Thanks OP! I'll definitely check this out.

Nice, would be nice if it had a thing to track my rebate cards when I use them xD. I have that on my spreadsheet, similar to yours.

Yea, I end up just depositing the cards to my bank account using an app called "Flint" they take 3% but with the amount of cards I need to process I wouldn't be able to use them on legitimate purchases so it is worth it. I move the row over from "outstanding to completed" after the deposit is complete.
