There is a lot of material that claims this is compatible with Android as well. This is NOT HDCP compliant over wlan though. This creates screen mirroring problems with pretty much anything more recent than a Galaxy S4.

"For simple connection to your existing wireless network."

Don't know what that even means - this doesn't connect or require an existing network, it's a direct connection.

Anyway, bought one of these for the office for $35, works flawlessly for the Surface Pros and newer Thinkpad notebooks we've tested with.

Is this like the chromecast stick, but for the whole window?

Chromecast also works with whole window . You need to use beta version of app.

I just received mine from the last deal. I knew it'd be incompatible with iOS and OSX, but also haven't been able to get it working with my Android phone. Constantly says "connecting." I'll be returning and sticking with my Chromecast.

They are for completely different uses, so it depends on what you are trying to do.

I got one from the last time this was on sale and have been using it for about day. Its really good and super easy to use. It treats the TV/display like a second monitor in windows, so you can extend/mirror/second only if you want. More functionality than chromecast, but there is a little noticeable lag when using lower powered devices. I used a core M with HD 515 graphics and youtube was a little laggy on the audio. The video was just fine, but the words coming out of the guys mouth were not quite in sync. Not terrible, but not as smooth as Chrome cast there. Either way, useful device for many different reasons and at $30 the price is right.
