Milwaukee's (M12 and M18) power tool model number format is:
"2 S N N - R B", where S = battery series (1=4V, 4=M12, 6=M18), N N = tool/kit number (0#~6# are single tools, 8# and 9# are kits of 2+ tools), R: 2=new, 8=reconditioned, B: number of batteries included (0=bare tool, 1, 2).

For 2493-22: 4=M12, -22 = new, 2 batteries included.

tool set looks like a good deal except for the open end wrenches. I would have preferred combination ones.

Any comments about the wet/dry vac? Cheap, good value? Bad value?

Great value. If you don't have one and need one, get one. They go on sale for this price every year around the holidays. Great for cleaning the car, garage, shop, etc. I like the smaller size better since it's easier to move around.

These all look like good value buys to me. I think the mechanics tool set is a great value, but like above, you might want combination wrenches instead of the open-end. The 3 drawer husky tool box is usually pretty cheap at Home Depot on it's own. Harbor Freight wrenches have a lifetime warranty like Craftsman also, so you can mix and match tools and a box.

16 Gal shop vac is pretty big. I have a 12 gal and I think thats the sweet spot for size. Depot and Lowes always has them cheap for BF.

I wonder if the Milwaukee compo also includes the promo they have in store right now, which gets you a free additional tool or battery. There are abut 8 options. 3 tools, 2 batteries for $100 is a pretty good deal. They are quality tools- I have both of these and use them all the time.

For comparison, the 12 gallon Craftsman wet/dry vac is on sale for $50 right now with an Ace Rewards membership.

The free tool deal actually uses a $169 Drill/Impact M12 Combo Kit: http://www.homedepot.com/s/2494-22?NCNI-5

So this deal is 2 solid tools, 2 batteries and a charger for $99

Never shopped for wet/dry vacs but could use one...Is this a decent one for regular home use at a decent price?

Is this price only today? I see it states "Special Buy" next to the price.
