Not sure what happened before. Opened the link multiple times and it only showed an in-store option. Now I'm seeing the default shipping option.

Not that it isn't a good deal, but after 2 months of pc study I would strongly suggest to anyone who cares to purchase an intel SKYLAKE processor. This is haswell.

It comes up as $214 when i open the link, so i guess there must be some other discounts. Regardless, you can get an i5 6600k for $250 at this time. I expect there may be deals next week, but even if not id pay the extra to move to socket 1151 with all its benefits (not least ddr4)

Make sure to check out with Visa Checkout to get the $25 off $100. That drops it below $200. Cheapest I've seen it, and great for a budget build. With this deal I got my whole rig under $400.

can you tell me what's benefit you'll get from a Haswell to skylake cpu ? also why move to ddr4 when they seems slower then ddr3 ? I would like to be educated befire I move on to my next build since I'm still on sandy bridge i7 3770k 1155 socket and it's been great .. also, I am running haswell i3 4360 cpu as well, but I do notice haswell chip seems to run hotter than 1155 cpu

is it just me or is the AMD that was on FP earlier a better deal?

Good strong processor if you're going to be mostly gaming. Going Haswell is a significant amount cheaper than Skylake and is adequately future proof. There is not a lot of increase to Skylake. Maybe after AMD Zen there will be real competition again.

you're absolutely right !
after a quick research, I don't think upgrading to skylake is worth it unless I'm really starting from scratch and need a new build.. but I were to be using broadwell or haswell, I don't think it's worth moving up... ddr4 are expensive and who needs 64gb of rams, performance not a whole lot noticeable big difference, Integrated graphic is better but everyone nowadays want a discrete gpu... I think I'll hold back and see what I really want to build in a couple yrs when I see major improvement where I feel the urge to upgrade
