HHGREGG [hhgregg.com] also has these select LG 4K Ultra HD Smart HDTV's at similar prices.

BJ's [bjs.com] has the 43" LG for $369.99. Amazon price matched. [Thanks themoleculoman] - BJs OOS

All this RGBW nonsense being spewed about. I had this and a "true" 4k display hooked up side-by-side for 2 days. I'm keeping this one because both media and desktop content look better. People worship spec sheets over reality. If you read through the thread you'll see many, many people (myself included) who find this to be an extremely good 4k monitor. It does do 4:4:4 and it passes the chroma tests without scaling. I know this because I'm literally typing this message on this screen hooked into a GTX 960.

Note- Especially for people planning on using the 43 inch model as a monitor, these are not true 3840x2160 displays, they are actually 2880x2160 chroma resolution because they play a cost-savings game called RGBW, and do not meet the Consumer Electronics Association's standards to be called a 4K Ultra HD.

It cannot display 4:4:4 correctly and is ***NOT A TRUE 4:4:4 display***

It is more readable than a 4:2:2 display, but does not pass the chroma sampling test. Image from the 43 inch model shown below. Note the squiggly vertical lines when you zoom in to full size, especially on the green and yellow, and the very distorted last two rows of text:

Comment: The above image doesn't seem to be accurate. It looks exactly like when I set mine to 4:2:2. For me, with the 43 in LG and GTX 760 @ 3840 x 2160 x 30Hz (video card limitation), 4:4:4, the bottom two lines are perfectly legible. Keep in mind that when you're viewing a picture like this, the camera used to take the picture as well as the monitor the image is being viewed on can affect the final appearance.

Comment to the comment above: This image from a reviewer looking at another RGBW display from LG shows the exact same type of distortion on the text on colored background pattern. Their SRGB display on the left, a real RGB display in the middle, and a shot of a 43UF6430 on the right. Notice the exact same cutting off of the tips of the "K's" in both photos. The user provided photo is less detailed because it was taken farther away, but they are showing the same thing. It is an accurate representation of the display.

Compare it to an actual 4:4:4 monitor:

An article on money-saving RGBW panels-

and while this video is obviously pro-samsung ad, many points it makes about RGBW are certainly still valid:

KOHL'S
Kohls has the same TV for a similar price (49UF6430 for 499$) plus you get $150 Kohls cash to spend on future purchase. Can also use E_bates mobile app for 8% back and Discover Card for 5%.

Wal-Mart also just changed their price to matched the 49 inch. Good find, that is their advertised Black Friday price. Saves people from going out in the craziness. Although it is always an adventure.

Seeking expert's advice between this 55" LG vs the 60" Sammy on Black Friday. Trying to justify the better brand (Sammy > LG), features and the additional 5" would worth the time getting into the lines in front of BB. Or is this completely not apples to apples comparison.

No reviews for these. Are these tvs made special for black Friday? I heard they do this and set high retail prices but slash them and they are of lesser quality.

reviews indicate crappy back light uniformity and bad input lag. and bad contrast. Oled or bust.

How is this
65" LG 65UF6450 4K Ultra HD Smart LED HDTV
compared to
VIZIO - M-Series - 65" - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV - Black
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/vizio...Id=3858039

The Vizio will go on sale for $999 as well. I'm more concerned about the picture quality than the features.

Thanks

None of these 4K sets support 3D. It has become increasingly difficult to determine what LG sets have 3D.

TruMotion 120 instead of 240 yielding only a 60hz effective refresh rate. Not recommended for yes of this size.
