Curious, what is this controller primarily for? Like when would be the ideal situation to use it over a regular remote(s).

It lets you consolidate all of your remotes into one. You can program it to send different commands to different components with the touch of a single button.

I have 2 of these and ABSOLUTELY LOVE them! I have 600 series before and they were ok but 700series is great!

It's for controlling multiple devices.

Right now I have 3 controllers:
1 for the projector
1 for my receiver
1 for a Comcast cable box

The idea is that you can now have everything consolidated into one. I'll have to see if it would work with a BenQ projector.

When you have more than two remotes and they're all IR.

Use this to control all of your devices.

Example activity:
Watch TV - turns on Vizio TV - turns on onkyo receiver - turns on cable box - sets TV to correct input - sets receiver to correct input

Buttons control cable box and volume controls receiver.

All that from the press of one button, "Watch TV".

If you've got multiple remotes then you can program this one to replace them all.

Also, it can be programmed to do multiple things in sequence. so say you have a TV, receiver and bluray player. after programming, it can turn on the TV, set it to the right input, turn on the receiver, set it to the right input and then the bluray player on. All with a single button press.
