'no devices registered'

Sjs1990 9 10 November 24, 2015 at 06:52 AM
When attempting to set up deal alerts, I'm not getting any of them sent to my phone, and on desktop it claims 'no devices registered' when I'm actively using the app, even setting up the alerts on the app itself. Only notifications I'm getting to the app are front page alerts... Which I have turned off countless times!

Help or fix!

When adding/editing a deal alert on the desktop browser, if you hover over the Mobile notification method item, it will be greyed out and state "no devices registered":

Select your notification method. You may have multiple selections.
E-Mail PM Notification Mobile

I'm having a similar problem. I have the options e-mail pm notification mobile... but mobile is grayed out and it tells me "No device registered", but I can't find any way to remedy this. Also the new app doesn't have half the options the old one did... sorry I updated it!

Sorry for the inconvenience, GotCurves. Would you be able to uninstall and reinstall the app and see if it fixes the issue?

This could be resolved (somewhat) by /not/ versioning... instead of updating the same SlickDeals app, major revisions could be their own app. For example, the SlickDeals 2011 app, the SlickDeals 2013 app, etc. This would actually make people /more/ likely to upgrade, I think, if they knew they could much easier get back their old working version of the app. Like "Oh crap, this new SlickDeals 2015 app isn't letting me do any of the things I need to do... oh well, guess I'll just re-download the SlickDeals 2013 app until the SD team gets all of the bugs worked out."

I couldn't get the 2013 slickdeals app to reload. How can we install the older version. Please suggest if you find solution..

I don't believe we can, because they currently just roll up the updates and replace the outdated app with the current one... what my post was saying/suggesting is that maybe they *shouldn't* do that, so that people can easier get back to a version of the app that they're happy with.
