The only downside is that the motherboard supports HDMI 1.4 only. It's not capable of performing at 4k@60hz.

How does this compare with the Asus Z170-AR (Picked it up last week at Frys at $99 AFTER $25 MIR).
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z170-AR/

Newegg has the Asus Z170-A also for $109 and the MSI Z-170-A Pro for $99.

(Not sure what the difference between the -A, -A PRO, and -AR are)

Too bad LGA 1151 is not backwards compatible. My i7 4770K is far from obsolete.

I agree. And the DDR4 ram that's out there isn't that much faster. This is still one of the best motherboards out there, not sure why anyone would pay more than $200 over this.

Most people use graphics cards these days . There's only 3 or 4 mid to high priced z170 mother boards that support hdmi 2.0 . Asrock mini itx , ASUS deluxe , gigabite's $300 card and maybe one more .

This is a good deal. I was looking at the Gaming 5 version which goes for $30 more after rebate. This has most of the same features I wanted:

3 PCIe slots, and 2 of them will run at x8 for SLI/CF
2 x M.2 SATA
USB 3.1 type c, which is supposed to be the next big thing
VGA port and PS/2 for old hardware you may have
Looks good too.

Most of the boards I was looking at that met my criteria were $130 or more.
Grabbed one, thanks!
