This is hands down the best of the smart thermostats. Awesome to be able to control the temperature based on different rooms during different programs.

Just be aware these require a 5 wire (standard 4 wires and a common wire also) setup. You can just look at the back of your tstat to see how many you have.

That said, they come with a "power extender" or add-a-wire device that allows you to only add a common at your furnace. So, if you only have the standard 4 wires, you'll need to access your furnace to install the add-a-wire. Then it communicates with the tstat, which uses just the 4 wires at the tstat. It's not difficult to install. Don't be intimidated. Just make sure you power down your furnace and ac unit when working with tstat wiring.

If you have an extra wire or two not in use at both ends (tstat and furnace) you can just add that to the common at both the furnace terminal and the tstat, eliminating the need for the add-a-wire.

These are really nice thermostats. . The sensors are great. Their app and web portal are much nicer than the nest. Also, they have lots of technical and functional settings (thresholds, limits, etc..) you can dial in if you're comfortable with that.

Also, to be clear, the way the sensors work is they detect temperature and motion.

They work by balancing the temperatures of the thermostat and the sensors. So, if your tstat is at 70 degrees and your sensor is in a room that's 80 degrees, the tstat will actually read 75 degrees. You can choose which sensors (if you haveore than one) to use in the balancing.

The sensors can be used in one of two modes. This is in the "Follow Me" setting. Either you're constantly averaging the temperatures (follow me "disabled") or it only averages the temperatures when the sensor detects motion (follow me "enabled").

Didn't use my coupon until now... and managed to snag it for $249 - $64 = $185 x 6.25% IL taxes = $196.56.

Very happy...
