Router issues with vizio tv

Very weird situation... When my vizio tv is hooked up to router, netflix always works, no errors... However, all other apps stutter and freeze. Hulu freezes every thirty seconds and it's like clockwork, Amazon the same about every two minutes. It's very annoying. Vizio tech support no help either, they wanted me to reset the TV and force app updates if it didn't happen. This was of no help. Here's the kicker, I just hooked up my cable modem directly into the TV and bypassed the router entirely and now everything works fine, absolutely no errors. I have a newer Asus gigabit router, latest firmware installed. Can anyone think of why the router is causing all apps besides netflix to have errors?

You might try entering a static route [tek-tips.com] in the router.

Also specify UDP not TCP.

Are you connecting to the router via a wire or wirelessly?

If wired, try another port on the router and a different network cable.

^ Then check to see if you have the latest firmware update for your router. Then return it if so.
