Amazon has the J. A. Henckels International Classic 8-inch chef's knife marked down to $27.99 which is supposedly 70% off.

This isn't the best series of knife from Henckels but is a forged German blade, assembled in Spain and makes a great gift.

Target also has this price with free shipping but you'll likely pay tax.

made in china, soft steel. I'd call this a fair price fwiw, not slick.

Wrong. Blade is forged in Germany, knife is assembled in Spain.

It's German stainless steel with a lesser finish than their higher end models. Deal is an all time low price.

Get your facts straight before you thread crap.

That's a good buy for this knife. My son is a chef and only uses J. A. Henckels. Thanks for the heads up on this one.

Been keeping an eye on this knife for around a month, typically around $50 or so. Gonna snag this one as a practice knife.

Doubtful claims here.

I've owned these and the steel is soft. "German steel" is quite the broad term and does not necessarily mean good steel.

From what I've read they are made in China out of steel from Germany.. I don't believe any manufacturing is done anywhere besides china besides steel source. If this is true 27 is not a slick price. Sorry

The description on Amazon specifically says steel from Germany, assembled in Spain. You apparently can't read, bring no facts or data; yet claim you have 'owned these' and 'read' they are made in China.

Real knife snobs aren't going to buy Henckels Classic but they are forged blades for the home chef and at $27.99 for this knife is a great deal as others here have attested to. You come back and crap again on a dead thread.
