How's this compare to the California Air Tools deal? Half the price worth dealing with oil?

I have this and it's good but I really can't do much other than inflate tires and blow things off since it has to turn on so often. I did paint a tractor with it and it ran a lot. If I did it again I would spend a bit more and get the 21 gallon from harbor freight.

Absolute Steal. This is great. I have an oil - less Blackhawk 8 gallon I purchased last year on clearance for $40 with slightly lower specs and I run everything off it. I imagine this is much more quiet.
If you are on the border line just jump - it doesn't get much better.

I already have one, but it's a great compressor for the cost.

Can you paint a car with it, No.. You'll need a good IR or similar brand 60-80 gal tank for that. Same if your are using it with a blast cabinet.

With that said, I use the Husky one to inflate tires, lug nuts and other nuts/boltswith pneumatic wrench, nail gun, etc. I even painted two rocking chairs with it (three coats each) using a cheap HF HVLP air gun. That was pushing the limits of what it could handle but I was impressed.

My advice is after you've had it and used it for a little while letting the oil get dirty (when it's broken in), buy new compressor oil and go ahead and change the oil. Really the same procedure for any compressor, even the high dollar ones.
