RP2 is jack of all(and correct me if I am wrong) like a mini comp. u can use it to run Kodi, torrent client, NAS in some cases, some ppl use it to automate their home etc. it lacks USB 3 and to my understanding ethernet and usb ports share bandwidth so u are fairly limited if you have multiple users setup.

this is a dedicated NAS server running intel celeron. U dont need to do any programming. It can run VM, plex server, virtual machine, torrent clientetc. Much more powerful than RP2 IMO. And u don't need to tinker with it to make it work.

picked one up about a year ago. put a total of 16GB of RAM, 2 x 3TB harddrive running raid 1, save all my family pics, running vm and Minecraft server. Great NAS.
