From what I see on the current links, $70 expires Oct 31st and $50 expires Dec 7th

This lens Rocks.
BuyDig.com is one of the best sellers IMO. (USA authorized, reliable, honest, legit, caring etc)
Last time that this deal was for $860, I got it and never cared to send for rebate.
This time its even better, even if you don't go to hassle of MIR.
Almost every picture I post on web, taken with this lens, brings a lot of positive response.
Go for it if you care for maximum optical reach, at least price, without any compromise on image quality that by majority of reviews, is in par with 10-15 times priced white Canon Ls.
And without getting into any discussion with less informed that talk of Sigma or Canon's 100-400, or even prime 400 F5.6L, answer is just "NO". Go with this deal and buy a lot more accessories with the saved money. You will not lose anything Noticable!

what about AF speed?
The lens is mostly used for shooting BIF; AF performance is critical.

The $50 rebate mentions the $70 rebate. Not sure if it means the $70rebate is extended.

I saw some Flickr channels for this lens, spectacular photos. But to make decision hard Nikon very recently brought out 200-500mm at a very reasonable rate. That one retails for around 1300 - 1400. Hmmmmm decisions decisions!

I bought this lens last time when it was on sale. Based on my experience, The AF speed depends on the camera body as well. It's faster on 5D III than on 70D.
