maybe due to lack of rice or something like not enough server power to keep up with the over all holiday sales demand.

yes this makes house phones run over the internet, if ya setup google voice its free unlimited talk to anyone in the country using it.. very cheap way of getting home phone service and free at that

Thanks for the clarification. I thought I heard that GV wasn't going to support these devices anymore. I'm not clear of what brand it was. I tried to search on Google but couldn't find anything.

It was Obihai, but it was also two years ago so you're fine. They changed their mind about it I guess.
