eBags.com has the eBags TLS Mother Lode Weekender Convertible bag for $69.99. Use coupon 15MORE at checkout to get the price of $59.49. Shipping is free.

This is an awesome, well-reviewed travel bag w/laptop sling! It meets carry-on size requirements and has a lot of storage. All colors are on sale.

note: According to several commenters here as well as this thread, there is currently an AmEx offer of $10 statement credit with $50 purchase at eBags.com, which would bring the total price of this down to $49.49!!

Price is also $69.99 at Amazon [amazon.com] but the extra coupon doesn't work.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I couldn't figure out how to get 20% off. Perhaps it doesn't stack with Black Friday deals?

This is an incredible bag! It's perfectly sized for domestic and international carry-on regulations, and had flown with me to dozens of countries around the world as my only suitcase. Even after being thrown around public transportation, on and off nearly a hundred flights, it still looks like it's new out of the box. Our local airport has mostly Embraer and Canadair regional jets that require gate checks for rollaboards, and this bag fits their overhead bins like it was made for them. It's lightweight enough to pack and fit within international low-cost carrier carry-on weight limits. It can even substitute for a "real" backpack on a short backcountry trip.

Admittedly, this bag is a shameless copy of Rick Steves' "Europe Through the Back Door" bag and a few others that preceded eBags, but this bag appears to be better engineered and has some bells and whistles that were never included in the originals.

$69 is a fine price, but be sure to get cash back and use coupons at eBags to make the deal even sweeter. There are also occasional amex offers for eBags floating around if you have an Amex card.

Just to be clear, did you actually use and successfully apply that newsletter coupon to the TLS Mother Lode order? I tried several other coupons and none worked with that bag.

TBH I did not because I already have two of these bags. Might be worth checking with their customer support? The promo does say "some restrictions apply" but doesn't elaborate.

Yeah, just got the email - it doesn't apply:

This special offer cannot be combined with any other coupons, and does not apply to Steal of the Day featured products or eBags Corporate Sales orders.
I'm torn between buying this now or waiting to see if there will be a better deal on Monday.

I wonder if eBags would refund difference if they lowered price...

You can always buy with a credit card that has the Price Protection benefit. Might be iffy though if the lower price requires a coupon, i.e. if the price of this bag goes back to $99 on Monday, but with a 40% off coupon floating around.

Unfortunately, Amex no longer offers a Price Protection benefit. Many of the popular Visa and MasterCards do though.

The eBags bag wins if you're bringing a laptop, as it has a dedicated laptop compartment for quick access at airport security.

The Osprey bag has a weight-bearing padded hip belt, which is key if you plan on walking around with your pack on.

For the best of both worlds, look up the Tortuga backpack. Pricey though at $200, and it's still not perfect.
