Login to Bofa account and you can see cash back tab and when you click you can see the available stores for your account. Bofa has dynamic cashback deals and vary by person to person. i had only 10% cash back so it's YMMV deal...

I agree...ppl with not much computer knowledge buying this will have a bad experience...if you're going to have option of cpu, ssd, why not let us decide how much RAM? I like having a lot if shit open, I don't need an i7 or 512gb of ssd and I don't want to spend 2k just so I can have more RAM.

People with not much computer knowledge are probably not going to exceed 4gb of ram though, but I agree that you shouldn't be forced into paying for more storage just for more ram...

well. most browsers came at through 4GB on their own. it'll also be a lot more noticeable later in the devices life.

They really need to bump up the base RAM up to 8gb. I can get by easily on a 128gb SSD, but 4gb of RAM is way too little for a Windows machine. The Macbook Pro 13 Retina has 8gb of RAM in it's base model.

thanks OP for the heads up. if you are eligible for the BofA 20%, the $815 shipped after cashback for the i5/4gb model with the visa checkout is a pretty good deal. still debating if i really can live with the 4gb model.

I still have an i5 4GB Surface Pro 2 that I use. If you want to open 20 memory-heavy browser tabs, games, do rendering, or some other very memory-intensive tasks then, yeah, it's not gonna get it done. But that's not really what it's intended to be and for what the vast majority of what people do day-to-day it runs just fine. No problem at all running multiple browser tabs with MS Office and Outlook up in the background, Lightroom, backups, OneDrive and various other processes running in the background... Cranks right along.
