Last week there was 2GB one at TD for $115 after rebate and Visa check out. But yeah, if you need 4GB, a deal is rare.

Tempting. I'm thinking of building a computer for my father for his birthday, and I can throw this in my rig, and give him my 7950.

Pretty good deal but rebates sucks.

I'd be all over this one but I'm not yet a believer in the "high power consumption" thingy... so I'm waiting and hope for a gtx 960

I bought the "EVGA GeForce GTX 960 02G-P4-2966-KR 2GB SSC GAMING w/ACX 2.0+, Whisper Silent Cooling Graphics Card" from Newegg for $169.00 - $10.00 rebate = $159.00, which hasn't arrived yet.

Should I return it and get this one instead?

Personally, yes. From benchmarks, I saw this 380 beats out the SSC, and not to mention it has 4GB Vram.

Some people may argue that 4gb not necessary for this type of card at 1080p, I highly disagree. I think more people are saying this less, but playing Black Ops 3, on my 970, it takes up 3.6GB Vram and due to the damn .5gb vram crap it can stutter. I have to run at medium textures on my damn 970 when everything else can be turned up. Extra textures at 1080p can take up all 6GB Vram of a 980 Ti.

Sources for benchmark of powercolor 380 4gb vs 960 SSC: http://www.bjorn3d.com/2015/07/po...olution/2/

and source for black ops vram usage: http://www.gamersnexus.net/game-b...rk-titan-x

You can see 1080p high uses 3500-3600 MB Vram, so the 4gb would help in the texture department in this game and any other games in the future.

Thank you for the detailed response! I was also wondering whether or not the additional vram was worth the tradoff in speed, since the 960 is supposed have a higher clock speed: http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R9...ce-GTX-960. I am hoping that Newegg will waive the $25 restocking fee, since the 960 has not arrived at my house yet.

You can't compare clock speeds between different gpus, it doesn't mean anything. what matters is looking at fps numbers from game benchmarks (especially games you plan to play)

380 consumes more power, but it's slightly better than the 960

In for one: 179.99 - 9.00 (MBLNOV3015 promo) - 20.00 (rebate) = 150.99
