If you have no option but to activate at a store, make it a Gamestop store. You'll get a $25 Gamestop gift card. Not sure when the offer expires.

would it be okay to switch to $20/line group plan after activating the phone?

I think it would. For each line you'd start, you'd likely need to pay the $40 for the month (plus whatever phone/s you choose). I think once you receive the phones & combine to make say the 5/$100 plan they would then credit you back whatever applicable portion of that $40 per line as a credit on the account so likely you would get close to 2 months of service on all 5 lines (if it fact that's how many lines you wanted) for that initial $40.

They are locked for cricket, need to wait for six months. I have tried to get them unlocked multiple times before 6 months but no luck.

Please explain - I'm planning to switch the family over this week from AT&T (paying almost twice as much for far less). My understanding is that new phones come with free SIMs and that activation is free if you buy online. Tax is included in the price. What is this nickle and diming you're speaking of?

How is this deal not crazy hot as compared to unlocked deal for $150 more?

What am I missing? I'm already with cricket and have no problem w them.

Also, I don't really get the upgrade process. You pay for the next month but then get credited back? So basically in the end it's a free upgrade?

Thanks

I wouldn't put much stock in such a comment....he just joined today and has done nothing but thread crap on every post since he's joined SD, 9:9 so far.

I've been with Cricket since Feb and have not had any issue with nickle-diming. Though I am on the $55 for 20gb/mo. plan....so not much opportunity to charge me for extras.
