It seems that they put on one. I got some classic Star War games in my Battlefront bundle & these play.

Has it actually become available yet? So far I have only seen a couple of Youtube tests of some Star Wars games.

Impressive that it was finally thought out, but I question how many PS2 games are honestly worth playing on PS4 given how old they are and how the decent ones have already seen remasters.

Shadow of the Colossus would be nice to have native on the PS4/Vita, but I can't think of a single other game that I want to see.

Burnout 3 has never been matched for me. I'd play it.

Don't touch that dial now, we're just getting started!

Burnout 3 was the first game I played when my first HDTV arrived in the mail.

So some ps2 games oddly seem to work for ps4?

Sony kind of surprised everyone with it when the Starwars Battlefront edition PS4 released/demoed. It came with a few download codes for some PS2 Star Wars games.

When you boot them, it does not play them natively, it obviously upscales the resolution, emulates the memory card saves and maps start and select to the track pad. This is basically what the PS3 was doing with the PS1 games.

Sony has come forward with nothing on the matter that I know of. I don't have any PS2 games to try and I am fairly certain that they won't work off the disc.

Seems pretty unlikely, I'd say.

Yeah, I don't see anything in there about putting a PS2 disc into a PS4 and playing it Scratchhead
That would seem to run counter to their PlayStation Now business goals.

Except that with the 'remasters' you have to pay MORE money when you may already own the original discs from the PS2 era. So why pay more for prettied up graphics if all you wanna do is play the games again?

Then again the PS4 does seem to be the Remasterstation. I mean, they're even re-releasing God Of War III(which released in 2009) as a remaster.

Maybe they should worry about making NEW games and not rehashing old stuff?

What's even funnier is that I noticed a listing for Super Star Wars(from the SNES) on the Playstation Store recently. Talk about really going back there to milk for more money. It's not even some nominal amount, it's $10.

From my own experiences, he uses and abuses the sites he is a member of. He cares about no one but himself. If there's a deal ANYWHERE, he is the person to buy 100x of whatever it is to resell for profit, and usually get the deal pulled or canceled.

He lives near me. A couple years ago, he bought five copies of a game on clearance at target closest to me. Bragged about it here then soon found out the trade value wasn't worth a 'flip'. When I called him on it for being a scumbag for buying out the stock, he PM'ed me and told me he would now purposely return them to a target far away from me so I can't get a copy for myself.
Whine more, please.

Did that ever finish? I recall the first but wasn't sure if it got a series. Same with Xenosaga.

That they are. I forget when the release date is, but they most certainly are supposed to be re-releasing God Of War III as a 'remaster'.

EDIT: Apparently they already DID re-release it back in JULY of this year.

they don't have much of a choice now. xbox one quietly picked up backwards compatibility for 360 games. they will need PS3 and PS2 backwards compatibility to stay ahead of the game.

while that may seem redundant, there a lot of people out there who missed out the last console generation and will want to play older gems that sell for peanuts used on fleabay. PS3 and 360 game libraries are HUGE. so backwards capability will be a big seller.

PS now is a joke at this point. they claim they have 105 games available. i looked at the list. more than half are total trash that no one gives a s**t about. there are more than 1000 PS3 games in existence. PS now will probably takes years before even half become available for streaming.

and at $20 a month or $180 a year, it cheaper to buy a PS3 and pick up the games on fleabay for a few dollars a piece.

I beat infection mutation and the 3rd one, I joined army and never finished the 4th disk. and now disk are like 150 bucks for all of them. I'd pay 100 for all 4 on back comparability gladly. loved the game

They also have other versions of series but I loved the mentioned series a lot
