New RP account, Using previously used Samsung Galaxy 2. How do I change the caller Id name displayed??

Hello, and thanks for your time! I signed up for the Leo 4 plan with a used Samsung Galaxy 2 sprint phone. I finally got the PRL updated today and it seems all set. Id like enable it to show my name or husbands name ( will be his phone) on the caller Id's when calling other people. Right now , I have no idea who's name it is thats displaying lol.

In my ring plus account, I haven't yet finished my profile with my name and information ( if any of this matters)

It might be collecting it from the central CNAM database. You will have to call them up and ask them to modify it

Had to look that up, looks complicated and confusing to a cell phone newbie lol. Another SD'er pointed me to adding name in my RP account. Did that, still coming up strangers name when I call my land line from cell .

Trying to avoid calling RP, I hear CS is not that good Frown

When you call a number the receiving party can do one of these:
1) accept the caller ID your device has sent (if any)
2) look up your number in the central database (known as CNAM) and override 1
3) if nothing in 1, do 2

So it's partly dependent on the receiver.

It's not difficult - just open a ticket and ask them to confirm what your CNAM entry is set to (or look for a free CNAM lookup online)
