PC USB Gaming Headset

quaff 1,005 448 December 1, 2015 at 11:19 AM
My son is asking for a new headset to replace our beat up Microsoft Lifechat headset that he purloined from me. He uses it just for playing some steam games and skype.

Any suggestions on one under $50 preferably that is just USB based?

laugh out loud Holy rambling run-on product title pages there, Batman. That first, second and fourth listing you linked are truly annoying.

Anyway, to answer the OP's question...

If your son doesn't care if it's a single or double headphone headset, then you can likely get away with a $10-20 cheapo headset.

Here's 3(also from Amazon) ranging in price from $10.39 to $19.88:

Logitech Stereo Headset H110- $10.39: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-98...sb+headset

Koss Communications USB Headset with Microphone (CS95-USB)(single headphone) - $16.92 : http://www.amazon.com/Koss-Commun...sb+headset

Logitech ClearChat Comfort/USB Headset H390 (Black) - $19.88 : http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Cl...sb+headset

Thanks for the advice. I was looking at a lot of the Chinese brands on Amazon - but the problem is it seemed a lot of the reviews are fake, so I don't have a real good idea how decent they are.

I just want to make sure it won't fall apart in 6 months from even light use - which seems to be a common complaint against a lot of the headsets.

I'm going by the rating and how many reviews it has and those 3 has very good rating with almost 5 stars.

That clear chat one from Logitech that I linked to looks pretty nice.

You could probably also use one of the older PS2 headsets. The one linked below is a single ear headset like one of the ones above.
