how to view files on router?

i have the archer c5 router.how do i view movies from kodi. usb flash drive is connected to the router.

Did you follow the directions in sections 4.4 and 5.8.2 of the users manual? You can download it here: http://www.tp-link.com/resources/..._V2_UG.pdf

Is Kodi installed on the USB?

I assume they have Kodi installed on some other device and wanting to browse files that are attached to the router physically, browse to them over the network.

USB drive has photos.the USB device is a usb flash drive(32 gig size) I'm trying to access the device from android tv box.i have usb flash drive as shared.

in kodi I go into video-files section.then browse.from there I have no idea where to go.

Do you have the file sharing on the router turned on?
Can you access it from a computer?

In Kodi, go to Videos -> Add files -> Browse and then at the bottom of the list, click on Add Network Location and then click Browse again. You will then see every network device on your LAN and should be able to browse to the router and the drive attached to it.

Click this link to your router http://192.168.1.1http://192.168.1.1 enter UserID & Password. Verify you can browse to the USB thumb drive and watch a video. If you can then you know that you set up sharing correctly.

Accessing the videos from Kodi will be similar.

I added it under upnp.i clicked on a photo and kodi went nuts .photo would appear in n out.kodi would then go back to kodi main menu.i had to force stop under android tv settings.

USB drive is shared in router settings.ftp and network neighborhood boxes are clicked.

I tried ftp.looks like it struggles with high quality videos taken from photo camera.is that due to the router or android tv box?

Confused FTP is the wrong protocol Smilie otherwise I guess so.
